How is CueCrux different from ChatGPT?

ChatGPT is an assistant; CueCrux governs the agents you run

ChatGPT is an assistant. CueCrux is the layer that governs the agents you run, whichever models they are built on.

CueCrux is not a model and does not compete with model vendors. Your agents might run on Claude, GPT or an open-weights model; CueCrux gives them durable memory, budgeted retrieval, signed receipts for every action, passport-bound identity and per-request policy. The model does the thinking; CueCrux keeps the record.

The nearest overlap is memory, and there the difference is measurable. Model vendors increasingly offer built-in memory by carrying more context. ScoreCrux, the open benchmark, shows what happens at scale: at two million tokens, stuffed-context recall collapses, from 44% to 28% on one model and from 28% to 8% on another, while tool-mediated memory holds 80-100%. Answer quality tells the same story from the other side: near-identical scores at a fraction of the context tokens.

There is also a governance difference no assistant offers. A chat log is not an audit trail. CueCrux receipts are signed, hash-chained and offline-verifiable, and they resolve to who acted under which grants.

Use whichever assistant you like. When you are running a fleet of agents rather than a chat window, the question stops being which model and becomes who can show a verifiable record of what the agents did.
